Making productions work with communication, collaboration and the desire to never stop learning.

Hello there, I’m Matt Ellsworth. Thanks for your interest! I’ve been part of the groundbreaking productions at Laika Animation Studios for 15 years in a myriad of capacities. Armed with a BA in Film Production and an MFA in Animation and Visual Effects, I’m excited for the next chapter in production challenges.

Stop-Motion animation and handcrafted cinema are my specialty. I have the ability to make my own projects from the ground up. Professionally, I’ve been involved in many parts of the process. I started out as a Production Coordinator for a professional video company in Marin County, California where I sourced gear and crew for shows on MTV and shoots within ILM and Skywalker Ranch.

Before coming to Laika I was an Assistant Stop-Motion animator on a Radio Shack commercial. At Laika I’ve been able to add many things to my professional skillset including fabricating and finishing 3D printed faces, track reading and exposure sheet creation, facial animation, and replacement animation testing.

Please reach out! I’m certain I can be a valuable part of your next production!

Cheers!
